Allen Toussaint, Hot 8 Brass Band as well as Jay Z, Macklemore, Lamar among Grammy nominees
Among the New Orleans musicians receiving nominations were Allen Toussaint, who received two Grammy nominations, the Hot 8 Brass Band, trumpeter Terence Blanchard, as well as PJ Morton and his father Bishop Paul S. Morton.
Toussaint was nominated for the Best Americana Album category for "Songbook,” and for a Best American Roots Song for a song on that same Rounder CD, “Shrimp Po-Boy, Dressed.” (Singer-songwriter Steve Earle, who appeared on HBO series “Treme” also was nominated in that song category.)
