Allen Toussaint is headed back into the studio to do a follow up to his Grammy Nominated "Bright Mississippi" Cd. Be looking out for it in the ealry spring. He will also be working on another cd of new songs that he has written about the places he has travel and the peoplehe has met along the way.

The Southern Knight has also been busy writing a musical which just had a practice run n New York to great reviews and will be traveling though out the US, we will be posting dates and cities as they come., along with a Ballet he has been commissioned to do with Legandary dancer Twyla Thorp. We will also be bringing more information about it as it comes. As you can see the Souther Knight is ever so turning out music for our hearts and minds.

Hi. I just got home from the Neil Young show at Ruth Eckerd Hall (Clearwater, Florida). I have to admit I did not know who you were (I often like to be surprised by opening acts, so I do little research on them). HOLY COW! What an amazing and fun performance! I talked with some of my friends during the break and they were floored too. You just went from 0 to 100 in my book!

Saw Allen and had a chance to meet him backstage in Aspen, CO this past weekend. At the 7908 Aspen Songwriters Festival. What an amazing performance. I heard several of the performers remark that they had just seen the most incredible performance of their lifetimes!

Does anyone know if Allen is planning to play the Toronto Jazz Festival again this year? Saw him last year and he and his band brought the house down! What a show! Can't wait to get the chance to experience such fine music again.

i've always enjoyed your music but the austin city limits set was...well i'm from the country way up there monroe way. your lead in to southern nights took me back...way back. i felt the breeze as you decribed it allen.

This show is almost sold out. I think I may have to buy a sit close to the stage even if I have to sit with another couple! Also, it looks like a nice venue. Quoting CW504:

Got to see him last night in the middle of nowhere (Western Oregon U). He was very tired to start, and the speakers were all screwed up...but as the night went on, the sound system was fixed, and Allen relaxed. He got better, and inspired the locals to play beyond their limits. Then he did a 15-20 minute instrumental. I have seen allot of acts over my 60 years...but this one was memorable...but not recorded...like a American Native drawing in the sand, he finished, and it was gone...but the feeling it inspired will always be there...

Hi, just saw the man with Mark Ribot at Jazz Middelheim in Antwerp (on this site anounced as a solo concert). Really amazing performance, I was flabbergasted! Allen Toussaint is absolutely great. Cheers, Jan

Does anyone know whether Mr. Toussaint plays any unannounced sets when he's in New Orleans? I'm trying to get to NOLA for Stomp 9/16, and just wondering if I might catch him at a low-key bar/club that Saturday. Any insight would be greatly appreciated, thanks!!
